How do I rename a gallery?

You can change a gallery's name anytime — this doesn't affect the photos inside.

How to do it

  1. Open Galleries (/dashboard/categories)
  2. Find the gallery you want to rename
  3. Click the pencil icon (edit)
  4. Change the name in the input field
  5. Click "Save" or press Enter
  6. The new name appears instantly

What changes automatically?

  • The name in your dashboard
  • The name on your public portfolio
  • The display in photo edit panels

What doesn't change automatically?

  • The slug (URL) — it stays so existing links keep working

If you also want to change the slug, see change gallery slug.

Example

  • Old: "Untitled Gallery"
  • New: "Fashion Editorial Paris 2026"
  • Slug stays: untitled-gallery (you can change it separately)

Warning: links

If you change name and slug, old links (e.g. in your Instagram bio or emails) stop working. Think first:

  • Did you link this gallery somewhere?
  • Is the gallery indexed on Google?

For important galleries: change the name but keep the slug.

Renaming many quickly

With 10+ galleries it can take a while. Work systematically — e.g. go through all "Untitled 1, 2, 3" and name them.

Save error

If the name doesn't save:

  • Too long? Max 60 characters
  • Duplicate? Two galleries with the same name is technically OK but confusing
