How do I hide a whole gallery from my public portfolio?
· Use the visibility toggle to hide complete galleries including photos.
How do I hide a whole gallery?
Sometimes you want to temporarily hide a whole gallery — e.g. while reworking it or because the client is under NDA.
How to do it
- Open Galleries (
/dashboard/categories) - Find the gallery
- Click the eye icon next to the gallery
- The icon gets crossed out — the gallery is hidden
Or in edit mode:
- Click the pencil icon on the gallery
- Disable the "Visible" toggle
- Save
What happens?
- ✅ Gallery stays in your dashboard (marked as hidden)
- ✅ Photos inside stay unchanged
- ✅ You can keep editing the gallery
- ❌ No longer visible on your public portfolio
- ❌ Photos in the gallery aren't shown either
- ❌ Direct links to the gallery show an error page
When is it useful?
- Rework: You want to re-curate the gallery before it goes live
- NDA: Client wants the work not yet public
- Seasonal: Hide winter shoot in summer and vice versa
- Archive: Old work you don't want to delete but not show anymore
Show gallery again
Same path — click the eye icon or enable the toggle in edit mode. The gallery reappears on your portfolio instantly, at its old position.
Difference vs deleted gallery
| Action | Hidden | Deleted |
|---|---|---|
| Visible in dashboard | ✅ | ❌ |
| Photos kept | ✅ | ❌ |
| Reversible | ✅ | ❌ |
| Counts to plan limit | ✅ | ❌ |
Tip: hide instead of delete
When in doubt — hide first, decide later if delete. Hide is safe and reversible.
Can I hide individual photos in a visible gallery?
Yes — see hide photo. That's independent of gallery visibility.
