I forgot my password — what now?

No problem — LACOP has a simple reset flow. You only need your email address.

How to do it

1. Go to lacop.app/login
2. Click "Forgot password?" below the login fields
3. Enter your login email address
4. Click "Send reset link"
5. Check your inbox — the email arrives in 1-2 minutes
6. Click the link in the email
7. You land on a page where you can set your new password
8. Save — done

Email not arriving?

• Check spam folder — especially Gmail/Outlook sometimes route it there
• Right email? — verify you use the same email as at signup
• Not registered at LACOP? — if the email isn't registered, we don't send a "doesn't exist" message for security. Double-check your address
• Wait 5 minutes — sometimes email delivery is delayed

Link doesn't work

• Link expired: Reset links are valid for 1 hour, then you need a new one
• Link already used: Single-use — a second click doesn't work
• Email client opened the link: Some email apps (Outlook, Gmail preview) open links in the background and invalidate them. Request a new one and open the email on a device without preview

After reset

• Log in again with the new password
• Other sessions are terminated — if you were logged in on other devices, you need to log in again there
• Security email informs you that the password was changed

2FA account

If you have 2FA active:

1. Reset password as above
2. At next login you additionally need the 2FA code
3. The reset only changes the password, not 2FA

Lost password AND 2FA?

If you also lost your phone with the authenticator app:

1. Reset password as normal (still works)
2. At login you can't confirm 2FA
3. Write to support@lacop.app with:
   • Your login email
   • Your slug
   • Proof you own the account

We disable 2FA manually after verification — takes 1-2 business days.

Tip: password manager

To never forget passwords again:

• 1Password, Bitwarden, iCloud Passwords or Google Passwords
• Save password once, autofill from then on
• Free or minimal cost
