How do I change my password?

Change your password regularly or whenever you think it's been compromised.

How to do it

  1. Open Settings (/dashboard/settings)
  2. Find the "Password" section
  3. Enter your current password
  4. Enter your new password
  5. Confirm the new password (second field)
  6. Click "Save"

Requirements

Your new password must:

  • Be at least 12 characters long
  • Contain 1 uppercase letter (A-Z)
  • Contain 1 lowercase letter (a-z)
  • Contain 1 digit (0-9)

Example: MyNewPw2026

After the change

  • You get a confirmation email (security notification)
  • Your current session stays active (no need to re-login)
  • If you're logged in on other devices, you're logged out there (security)

Tips for a secure password

  • Longer is better than more complex
  • Use a password manager (1Password, Bitwarden, iCloud)
  • Don't reuse — your LACOP password only for LACOP
  • Passphrase instead of password: Cat!Dances2026 is very secure

What if I forgot my password?

Then don't change in settings — use "Forgot password?" on the login page. See forgot password.

Password compromised?

If you think your password was leaked (e.g. via Haveibeenpwned):

  1. Change immediately in settings
  2. Enable 2FA if not yet (see enable 2FA)
  3. Check audit log for suspicious logins
