How do I upload my profile image?

Your profile image appears in your sidebar, on your public portfolio and in comments.

How to do it

  1. Open Profile (/dashboard/profile)
  2. At the top you see your current image (or initials if empty)
  3. Click the image or the upload button
  4. Pick a photo from your device
  5. Save

Requirements

  • Format: JPEG, PNG or WebP
  • Max size: 5 MB
  • Recommended resolution: at least 512×512 pixels, square is ideal

LACOP automatically converts your photo to 256×256 WebP (optimized for fast loading).

Which photo works?

Good

  • Face clearly visible
  • Square or near-square crop
  • Neutral background or blurred BG
  • Natural light or professionally lit
  • Smile or neutral expression

Less good

  • Group photo — who are you?
  • Sunglasses (unless it's your signature)
  • Very dark or very bright
  • Cropped oddly
  • Party snapshot (feels unprofessional)

Tip: consistency

Use the same profile image on:

  • LACOP
  • Instagram
  • LinkedIn
  • Business card

So clients recognize you across platforms.

Remove profile image

To remove your image (back to initials):

  1. Open profile
  2. Click "Remove image" (next to the current image)
  3. Confirm

What if I don't have a photo of myself?

For photographers and creatives, a selfie profile image isn't mandatory. You can also use:

  • A logo
  • An abstract graphic design
  • A work symbol (e.g. camera, pen)

But: people trust faces more than logos. If you want to win clients, a real photo helps.
