How do I connect my own domain?
· From the Pro plan you can connect your own domain — via DNS settings.
How do I connect my own domain?
Your own domain (e.g. ariamodel.com) gives your portfolio maximum professionalism. This feature is available from the Pro plan.
What you need
- Pro or Premium plan on LACOP
- An own domain you've already bought (e.g. Namecheap, GoDaddy, Hostinger, Cloudflare)
- Access to the DNS settings of your domain provider
No domain yet?
Buy one at:
- Cloudflare (~€10/year, hassle-free)
- Namecheap (~€10-15/year)
- Hostinger (often promo prices)
- GoDaddy (well-known, slightly pricier)
Pick a .com or country TLD (.at, .de) — ideally your name: ariamodel.com
Step 1: enter domain in LACOP
- Open Profile → "Website domain"
- Enter your domain without
https://(e.g.ariamodel.com) - Save
Step 2: DNS setting at your domain provider
Log in at your domain provider and find the DNS management. Add two records:
For the root domain (ariamodel.com)
- Type: A record
- Name:
@(or empty) - Value: (shown to you by LACOP)
For www (www.ariamodel.com)
- Type: CNAME
- Name:
www - Value: (shown to you by LACOP)
Exact values come from support (support@lacop.app) — they differ per setup.
Step 3: wait
DNS changes need 5 minutes to 24 hours to be active worldwide. Usually fast.
Step 4: SSL certificate
LACOP automatically sets up a free SSL certificate (Let's Encrypt). Your portfolio is then reachable at https://ariamodel.com.
Common issues
"Domain doesn't work"
- DNS not active yet? → wait (up to 24h)
- Wrong DNS record? → have support verify values
- Old settings? → delete any old A records
"SSL error in browser"
- LACOP needs 5-10 min after DNS change to issue the certificate
- Still error after 30 min? → contact support
Do I need this?
Pro and Premium: Custom domain is included, recommended for:
- Professional branding
- Better SEO
- Business cards with
.cominstead of.lacop.site
If you're on Free or Starter: Use the free yourname.lacop.site subdomain — it also works well for starting out.
