How do I downgrade my plan? What happens to my data?

· Downgrade in the Stripe portal — your data stays intact.

How do I downgrade my plan?

A downgrade is as easy as an upgrade. Important: Your data always stays intact.

How to do it

  1. Open SettingsPlan & billing
  2. Click "Manage subscription" or "Open Stripe portal"
  3. You land in the Stripe Customer Portal
  4. Click "Switch plan" (or similar)
  5. Pick the lower plan
  6. Confirm
  7. Change takes effect at end of billing period

Alternative: directly in LACOP

In some cases you can also pick a lower plan directly in Settings (if available).

When does the downgrade take effect?

  • Immediately: A confirmation that the downgrade happened
  • At end of current period: Features of the old tier stay active
  • Start of new period: New (lower) tier becomes active, new invoice

Example

You're Pro until the 15th and downgrade to Starter:

  • Until the 15th: Pro stays active
  • From the 15th: Starter begins, new invoice for €12

What happens to your data?

Everything stays ✅

  • Photos, galleries, profile — completely unchanged in the database
  • Bio, about text, social links — stay as they are

What gets restricted ⚠️

  • Photos over limit: On downgrade to Free only the first 30 photos are visible. Rest is hidden (not deleted)
  • Galleries over limit: Similar — photos and galleries stay, but only the limit is visible
  • Custom domain: Deactivated on downgrade below Pro — you're back on the subdomain
  • Custom links: On reduction, excess links are hidden (not deleted)
  • Multilingualism: Reduced to the plan's number

On re-upgrade

If you later upgrade again:

  • Everything becomes visible immediately
  • No re-entering data
  • Seamless — you continue where you were

When does downgrade make sense?

  • Less need — you don't use the features anymore
  • Cost optimization — Pro is enough instead of Premium
  • Seasonal use — less photos in winter than summer (downgrade, later upgrade)

Recommendation: check first

Before downgrading, check if:

  • Current photo count stays under the new limit
  • Custom domain isn't needed anymore
  • Fewer custom links are enough
  • Features of the lower plan are sufficient

Cancel completely instead of downgrade?

If you don't want to use LACOP at all:

  • Cancel subscription → you're on Free (costs nothing)
  • Delete account (all data gone) → in settings

See cancel subscription.

No refund for yearly billing

If you paid yearly and downgrade early:

  • No money back for the rest of the year
  • You have access to the features until the year is up
  • Then the new plan starts
